Different Types of DEMAT Account

There are three types of Demat Account :

  1. Regular Demat Account: Traders or Investors who resides in India use this type of Demat Account.

2.Repatriable Demat Account: This Demat account useful to the Non-Resident Indians(NRIs) as it allows fund transfers abroad. Such a Demat account requires an associated NRE bank account.

3.Non-Repatriable Demat Account: A demat account used by Non Resident Indians (NRIs) under which funds cannot be transferred abroad. This type of demat account requires an NRO bank account associated with it.
